From the first line to the final stitch
Long before Cadence was born, its founder grew up surrounded by textiles and fashion. Over time, she developed an eye for lines, proportions, materials and all the details that give a product its personality.
From that culture came a particular passion for shoes, and then the wish to create designs made to keep pace with the real rhythm of women’s lives: days that run long, silhouettes that change, moments that follow one another.
Cadence was born from that vision. And behind every pair lies the same process: imagining a line, finding the right material for it, then entrusting it to the skill of those who will bring it to life.

Design comes first
Designed in Paris
Every Cadence design is imagined and drawn in Paris.
It all begins with the silhouette: an overall line, volumes, proportions and the details that will give it its identity.
The shape of a toe, the height of an upper, the curve of a heel or the position of a strap can be enough to change the whole balance of a design. Each element is therefore considered in relation to the others.
We don’t simply draw a shoe sitting on a table. We think about how it will come to life once worn, how it will move with you and find its place in a silhouette.
Every design begins with a line.
Every detail gives it character.

From line to material
Once the design is set, the materials are chosen.
Cadence works mainly with synthetic materials, a choice that reflects our wish to limit the use of animal-derived materials in our collections.
But choosing synthetic materials is not enough. We pay particular attention to sourcing and selecting our materials, looking among those offered to us for the ones that best meet our quality standards and the finish we want for each design.
Look, grain, suppleness, structure, touch: we compare and select carefully, because the same silhouette can take on a whole new dimension depending on the material it is made in.
This work is an integral part of developing our collections. The material must live up to the design, reveal its lines and preserve its intention all the way to the finished product.

The craftsmanship of our workshops
A design truly comes to life when it meets the skill of the workshop.
Our shoes are made in China with our partner workshops, where every step calls for precision, experience and mastery: preparing the material, cutting the pieces, stitching, adjusting the assembly and perfecting the finish.
Making a shoe relies on a balance between hand, eye and tool. The material is guided, adjusted and worked with care to stay true to the lines and proportions imagined at the design stage.
From cutting to stitching, every gesture helps build the silhouette step by step and give it its precision.
The drawing gives the intention.
The hand brings it to life.

Quality in the details
For Cadence, quality is built at every stage.
It lies in the precision of a cut, the regularity of a seam, the balance of a shape, the way the different pieces come together and the care given to the finish.
Taken one by one, some of these details may seem almost imperceptible. Together, they shape the overall look of the design and how it is perceived once the shoe is finished.
This attention continues in our workshops, where the skill of the makers preserves the intention of the design down to its finishing touches.
The quality of a pair never rests on a single element. It comes from the harmony between design, material and the way each of them is worked.
More than a pair, a way of moving
We don’t create shoes to look beautiful on a shelf.
We imagine them to come alive: in a stride, in a silhouette, in the very personal way each woman makes what she wears her own.
Behind every Cadence pair there is a design conceived in Paris, carefully chosen materials and the skill of those who give it form. But once the shoe is finished, the story no longer quite belongs to us.
What comes next begins with the woman who wears it.
Because, in the end, Cadence has never been about keeping up with the rhythm.
It is an invitation to find your own.
